Rangeland losses prompt request for federal aid

“California’s drought has prompted Tehama County to seek a federal disaster declaration because of damage to its rangelands, and neighboring counties may follow suit.

Tehama Agricultural Commissioner Rick Gurrola said the three-year dry spell has caused the county’s forage to lose as much as 70 percent of its value.”
